LOUIS VUITTON’S ARTISTIC PURSUITS
Sam Taylor Wood will be the first subject of Louis Vuitton‘s Double Exposure. The imagery project uses the mercurial collodian process, which requires a subject to hold a pose for 12 seconds, producing a print with an ethereal, painterly quality. Photographed by Tom Craig and and styled by Bay Garnett, the images will be revealed at a private viewing in the Louis Vuitton Bond Street Maison tonight. For a sneak preview, watch the video.
During this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Louis Vuitton will open a pop-up store, next to its original store, on the Croisette. Focusing on evening collections, including Cocktail Party by the Pool, Iconic Evening, and Evening Grand Soir, a selection of ready-to-wear, leather goods, and accessories will be on show from Marc Jacobs‘ collections. Inspired by the seaside and the cinema, the central passageway is designed to be a cross between a pier and a catwalk to lead visitors via an itinerary of Louis Vuitton creations, and embedded screens broadcasting scenes reminiscent of the French Riviera and 1920s’ Shanghai.
