In 2005, when Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, Talia Leman was just 10 years old, but she decided to take advantage of a captive audience and trick or treat for coins instead of candy on Halloween and give the money raised to relief. Her goal was $1 million but the outcome was $10 million, and the foundation of Random Kid, which leverages the power of children worldwide to solve global problems through micro-lending.
