WATCH, LISTEN, LEARN, WAIT

3D TV has been touted as the next logical step in home technology, and particularly since Avatar and Alice in Wonderland have been worldwide smash hits, media rumours and excitement are escalating. Although Sony, Panasonic, and Samsung are at the forefront of this new technology, experts are more cautious to consumer reactions and spending, noting that 3D development is still at the early stages.

While we may be happy to shell out for the experience at the movies, the estimated thousands that the emerging 3D TV technology will cost may slow down the rush. Also, the absurdity, inconvenience and extra cost of 3D glasses for everyday viewing is another obstacle. When you consider the recent transition to high-definition television, consumer skepticism may be no bad thing. For no matter how advanced or exciting the hardware may be, the content providers are the ones to watch and follow. Like the iPad, watch, listen, learn and wait.
